Oakville is a thriving community of almost 135,000 people, located on the shores of Lake

The community is part of the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) which is Canada's largest
metropolitan area with total population of about 4.8 million. Oakville's suburban location

Accessibility to the US border from Oakville is a one-hour drive along the Queen Elizabeth
Way (QEW Highway) where it connects at Lewiston, Niagara Falls or Buffalo, New York. The
Greater Toronto International Airport is just a 30-minute drive from Oakville via express
Highways 403, 407, or the QEW and 427.
Average household income in Oakville is estimated at $89,000, about $25,000 more than the comparable
GTA figure. The downtown is also home to one of two local harbours on Lake Ontario, which
feature docks and slips for sail and powerboats.
Oakville's strong and diversified economic base offers an excellent location for both new
and expanding businesses. Is home to national and international corporate

Oakville companies have access to a high quality local work force, as 65 percent have a post
secondary education. Nearly 60 percent of these are university educated.
Within a one-hour drive, Oakville workers/employers have access to eight Universities and
eight Technical Colleges for formal or continuing education. Local elementary and secondary
schools are supplemented by nine independent schools. Sheridan College main campus is
located in Oakville, and provides a variety of education and training opportunities in
business, animation, engineering, arts, social sciences and technical fields. Sheridan
College provides education to over 55,000 full and part-time students.
